Answer: Cavalcade

"Cavalcade" won the award in 1934 which covered the lives of a well-to-do family in London during historical events including the Second Boer War, the death of Queen Victoria, the sinking of the Titanic and WWI. "Braveheart" won the award for Best Picture in 1996 covering the period in the 13th century of Scotland's war against England. "All About Eve" won the Best Picture award in 1951 based on a 20th century drama in which it was the first film in history to receive four female acting nominations (two for Best Actress and two for Best Supporting Actress). "Driving Miss Daisy" won Best Picture award in 1990 and was an American comedy drama covering a 25-year period from 1948-1973.

Vittorio Bottego (1860-1897) was an officer in the Italian army and was one of the first Western explorers of the Horn of Africa which is now part of Somalia. Salomon August Andrée (1854-1897) was a Swedish engineer, physicist and polar explorer.

He died while leading an unsuccessful attempt to reach the North Pole by hydrogen balloon in 1897.
