The Seven Human Virtues is an amalgamation of Greek philosophy and Catholic teachings. Aristotle and Plato identified prudence, justice, temperance, and courage. From the letters of Saint Paul were added faith, hope, and charity. Rogaine is the brand name for Minoxidil, developed in the late 1950s by the Upjohn Company. It was first used to treat ulcers but animal tests were not successful, so Upjohn synthesized over 200 variations including oral tablets to treat high blood pressure in 1979. But it proved to be an effective vasodilator. In 1988 it became a topical solution to stimulate hair growth in men and later in 1991 it was approved for women.
