Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many letters are in the official German alphabet?

Answer: 30

The German alphabet consists of the same 26 letters as the English alphabet, plus has three diacritics and an eszett.
2. This is a beast of a number, which one is it?

Answer: 666

Read Revelation. It states, '...and his number shall be six hundred threescore and six.'
3. This is the smallest two digit prime number, what is it?

Answer: 11

4. What number is related to Arthur Clarke's original Space Odyssey (NOT the sequel)?

Answer: 2001

Hard to believe that when the movie was made in 1968 that we would ever reach 2001! I was also told the sequel was 2010: A Space Odyssey. Thank you SuperSmudge for the correction.
5. What did Prince party like it was?

Answer: 1999

"Party over, oops, out of time
So tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999."
6. In binary architecture, how many bits are in a byte?

Answer: 8

7. What is the only even prime number?

Answer: 2

Two is the only even prime number, as all other evens are divisible by 2.
8. What is the last processor (NOT speed) with a number?

Answer: 486

After the 486, the Pentium came out.
9. How many megabytes are in a gigabyte (according to the original standard)?

Answer: 1024

A gigabyte is 1024^3 or 2^30 bytes. Each rise of prefix is done at 2^10, so a kilobyte is 1024, or 2^10, a megabyte is 1024 kB or 2^20, a gigabyte is 1024 MB, and a terabyte is 1024 GB or 2^40, etc.
10. What is the highest non-infinite termed number?

Answer: Graham's number

A vigintillion has 63 zeroes after it, and a zillion is not a real number. A googol is a 1 followed by 100 zeroes! A googolplex is a 1 followed by a googol of zeros. Graham's number is so large that no one knows the real number but it is larger than a googolplex. Thanks to TheKingsHand for the correction.
