Jason Schwartzman stars as Max Fischer in "Rushmore" as a tenth grader attending Rushmore prep school. He falls in love with the first grade teacher named Miss Cross. (played by Olivia Williams) He is also befriended by a local tycoon named Herman Blume (Bill Murray) who also falls for Williams.

When Max finds out that his mentor also loves the teacher he seeks revenge. Blume retaliates and the two wage an all out war on each other.

The common bond is the famous English director Sir ALFRED HITCHCOCK, whose films include "ROPE," "The SECRET AGENT," "SUSPICION," "TOPAZ," "The BIRDS," "REBECCA" and "PSYCHO." Hitchcock also directed the classic 1959 film "North By Northwest," which starred Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint.

The climax to the thrilling film takes place on Mount RUSHMORE. Hitchcock was also famous for his 'CAMEO' appearances in his films. The first film that he directed and also appeared in was the 1926 thriller "The Lodger," which concerns a man mistaken for Jack the Ripper.

Another of Hitch's all time greats is the 1942 film "Sabotage" starring Robert Cummings. The climax of the movie has the villain hanging on the edge of the Statue of Liberty as the THREADS of his sweater began to tear apart.
