The Forint is the current (2016) currency of Hungary. Although a member of the EU, Hungary would dearly love to be a member of the Euro currency. However, this could take some time. The Fanam used to be the currency used by the Madras Presidency until 1815.

It was circulated alongside the Indian Rupee. The Florin was the currency of Tuscany between 1826-1859. The Franc was a currency used by a number of countries including France, Luxembourg and Belgium before converting to the Euro. The Swiss Franc is still a valuable currency.
