Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which one of these names is not the name of a famous rap star?

Answer: La-Z-Boy

La-Z-Boy is a kind of recliner, not the name of a rapper. So instead of 'raising the roof', La-Z-Boy would be 'raising the foot rest'.
2. What do John F. Kennedy, Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson all have in common?

Answer: Their names are usually in initialisms

Their names are commonly seen as initialisms like JFK, FDR, and LBJ. Only two died in office (JFK and FDR), one was assassinated in office (JFK), and one was from New York (FDR).
3. Which one of these medicines is not like the others?

Answer: Robitussin

Out of these four medicines, Robitussin is not like the others. Effexor, Zoloft, and Paxil are all anti-depressants unlike Robitussin, which is a cough syrup. So if you get your Prozac confused with your cough syrup, you'll still feel depressed but at least your cough would be better.
4. What do Ringo Starr, an ear, oil and Mickey Dolenz have in common?

Answer: They all have drums

Ringo Starr was the drummer for the Beatles and Mickey Dolenz was the drummer for the Monkees. In all human beings, you have a 'drum' in your ear and oil is kept in oil drums. Coincidence? I think not.
5. Which one of these exotic locales has not been a location for the show 'Survivor'?

Answer: Mojave Desert

The Mojave Desert has not been a location for Survivor. It's probably a bit too hot there.
6. What do the movies, 'Gladiator', 'A Beautiful Mind', 'Titanic' and 'Braveheart' all have in common?

Answer: They've won Oscars for Best Picture

All of these movies have won Oscars for Best Picture. Is it just me or is 'Titanic' probably the only movie with the plot in its title to win an Oscar?
7. Which one of these magazines is not an actual teenage magazine for girls?

Answer: National Geographic

'Tiger Beat', 'Seventeen', and 'CosmoGirl' are all teeny-bopper magazines.
8. What do the names Sgt. Snorkel, General Halftrack, Plato, and Zero have in common?

Answer: Names of characters from the 'Beetle Bailey' comic strip

These are all characters from the comic strip, 'Beetle Bailey', featuring Beetle, Sgt. Snorkel (who beats up Beetle on a daily basis), Plato the smart guy, Zero the dumb guy, and Gen. Halftrack the hard drinking golfer who never spends time with his wife.

There are other characters in the strip that I don't know the names of, despite the fact that I've been reading it for as long as I can remember.
9. Which one of these specials is not a 'Peanuts' special?

Answer: 'It's the Three Bears, Charlie Brown'

As of 2002, there hasn't been a 'Peanuts' show on The Three Bears. If there was, Sally would be perfect as Goldilocks.
10. What do Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, and Salmon P. Chase have in common?

Answer: Non-presidents who appeared on U.S. paper currency

Alexander Hamilton appears on the ten dollar bill, Ben Franklin on the one-hundred dollar bill, Salmon P. Chase is on the $10,000 bill. So if you had a wallet full of tens and hundreds, you'd be carrying some dead non-presidents instead of dead presidents.
