Jack Judge wrote the song using Tipperary as a reference to his ancestral home (his grandparents lived there), and the song became a popular war song (during the Great War). Today, the town of Tipperary, in the province of Munster, has welcoming signs that say, "You've come a long way...".

2. I've always loved swinging to the Glenn Miller rendition of "Chattanooga Choo-Choo". Can you tell me where, exactly, Chattanooga is?

Answer: Tennessee

Harry Warren and Mack Gordon's inspiration for this song was a wood-burning steam locomotive owned by the Cincinnati Southern Railway, but the song itself describes a train that runs from Pennsylvania to Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The city is in the south-eastern part of the State, in Hamilton County, on Chickamauga Lake and Nickajack Lake, which are both part of the Tennessee River.

Crosby, Stills & Nash released the song in 1969. Nash's Moroccan vacation included a train ride from Casablanca to Marrakesh, and it was apparently just like it is presented in the song, including the 'ducks and pigs and chickens'.

Marrakesh was founded in 1062 AD, and can be found in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains in central Morocco.

No, the Beach Boys were not singing about Kokomo, Indiana. The island of Kokomo (now named Sandals Cay) is off the coast of Jamaica in Montego Bay. The name change came after Sandals purchased the tiny (2 1/2 acre) island, and built a couples resort there.

Beginning in Chicago, Illinois, Route 66 (now also called the Will Rogers Highway), the road ran through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before finding the west coast at Santa Monica, California.

"Scarborough Fair", as a traditional English ballad, has existed in one form or another since the mid-17th century, although songs with lyrics referring to the Scarborough Fair and the line "Parsely, sage, rosemary and thyme" did not appear until the 19th century.

Scarborough is a city in the county of North Yorkshire in northern England on the coast of the North Sea. It is a popular resort town, and has earned the nickname "Brighton of the North".
