The city used to be called Sao Paulo de Loanda. It was founded in 1576 and made capital in 1627. Until 19th century it was a centre for export of slaves to Brazil.
2. This African city in a rich copper area used to be called Elisabethville.

Answer: Lubumbashi

Lubumbashi used to be known as Elisabethville under Belgian colonial administration of Democratic Republic Congo. (The country was called Zaire 1971-1997). It is the capital of Katanga province which used to be known as Shaba. The city is site of one of the world's major copper fields.
3. This African city is situated on an island called Njazidja. It´s capital of an Islamic Republic.

Answer: Moroni

Moroni is capital of the Comoro Islands. The city is situated on Njazidja Island, formerly known as Grande Comore. Comoro Islands is a Federal Islamic Republic in the Indian Ocean. It became independent from France in 1975.

Answer: Kupang

Kupang is capital of Indonesian East Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia. Also called West Timor this part of Timor Island still belongs to Indonesia, while East Timor became an independent republic in 2002. Dili, capital of East Timor, is slightly smaller than Kupang.
