Located in the state of Alaska, this is the tallest mountain in the US, standing at 20320 ft (6194m). "Denali", meaning "The High One", was previously known as Mount McKinley. Many mountaineers have claimed to have climbed Denali but the first proven ascent to the top was by mountaineers Hudson Stuck, Harry Karstens, Walter Harper, and Robert Tatum on June 7, 1913.

On August 12th, Lewis and Clark came to Lemhi Pass which spans across the modern-day border of Montana and Idaho. It bridges the gap between the ranges of the Rockies and the Continental Divide. With snow-capped peaks as far as one could see, they carried on westward, going onto the West Coast and the Pacific Ocean.

Lemhi Pass is a National Historic Landmark and located 12 miles east of Tendoy off I-28, in Beaverhead and Salmon National Forests.

Captain George Vancouver first saw Mount Rainier in 1792 after their crew sailed into Puget Sound on their expedition to the northwest coast of North America. He named the mountain after their friend, Rear Admiral Rainier.

Mount Rainer is Washington's highest mountain comprising of three separate peaks, Columbia Crest, Point Success, and Liberty Cap. Its highest point is 14,411 feet.
