Washington, Lincoln, and Jefferson are there, but it's Teddy Roosevelt, not Franklin, whose face adorns the mountain.

Devil's Tower, which is where portions of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" was filmed, is actually in Wyoming. The Corn Palace was featured on MTV's "Road Rules" during its early seasons.

This is something I never learned until moving to South Dakota...the capital, Pierre, is actually pronounced like a fishing "pier" and not as a French-sounding name. (All those years of elementary and middle school geography and I was saying it incorrectly!)

Answer: Wild Bill Hickock

Wild Bill was killed in a poker game at Deadwood's Saloon #10 in 1876. he made the mistake of sitting with his back to the front door, and he was shot and killed by Jack McCall. Legend says he was holding in his hand "Aces and 8's" which is why this hand is now called the "Dead Man's Hand."
