Answer: Lancashire

Foulridge is a bronze age village dating back to 2000 BC; its name is a corruption of "Foal Ridge". Foulridge's claim to fame is a cow which fell into the canal and swam 1500 metres through a tunnel to safety. A picture of the cow adorns the wall of the "Hole-in-the-Corner" pub.
2. The village of Botus Fleming is in a south-western county famous for butter and cream; where will you find it?

Answer: Cornwall

Botus Fleming is home to the church of St Mary the Virgin, which was dedicated in 1259; apart from requiring a new roof in 1873, it's still much as it was.
