2. In what month are Catfish Days traditionally held?

Answer: August

Catfish Days provide a variety of actives for all ages. It's similar to an end of summer festival, without the rides. Many people participate and it's a great way to spend family time.
3. A state park is only about 20-25 miles away from Grand Forks, what is the name of this park?

Answer: Turtle River State Park

This park is great in summer or winter. There is fishing and camping possibilities. Also in the winter you can go sledding and ice fishing.
4. What is the name of the Grand Forks local newspaper?

Answer: Grand Forks Herald

The Grand Forks Herald managed to get the paper out during the flood even when the building was under water.
5. In what year was Grand Forks big flood?

Answer: 1997

We had a blizzard shortly before and then everything melted very quickly and the Red River crested. Many people lost their homes but we did have an 'Angel' who gave generously to help those who lost everything.
6. Which branch of the military has an institution located near Grand Forks?

Answer: Air Force

We have an air force base and students can take classes out there and the price isn't bad at all. The air force base really helped out during our flood by letting people stay out there.

We have Catfish days in August and there's a competition to see who can catch the most catfish out of the Red River. The river crested in 1997 and flooded both East Grand Forks, MN and Grand Forks, ND.

Answer: East

East Grand Forks and Grand Forks are called the Greater Grand Cities. Between the two towns we do have a far amount of things to do, if you like small town life.

Answer: 2001-2002

This arena has a multitude of uses. It is used primarily for hockey games played by our UND fighting Sioux. Also it is used for concerts and other events.
10. What is the major highway which crosses the North Dakota and Minnesota border from Grand Forks into East Grand Forks?

Answer: Highway 2

This Highway starts in Washington State and goes through to Wisconsin. It picks up on the other side of the Great lakes and continues on up through Maine.
