Answer: Taunton

The 12th century Norman castle in Taunton was the site of a "Bloody Assize" conducted by Judge Jeffreys in 1685. Today, the town is best known for its cider, and as the home of Somerset County Cricket Club.

Answer: Tilbury

Tilbury,in Essex, was London's passenger liner terminal for many years, but deals mainly with cargo nowadays.

Answer: Thurso

Thurso, in the traditional county of Caithness, lies on the banks of the River Thurso. The largest local employer is the recently decommissioned Dounreay Nuclear Power Station. The workforce has been retained to reprocess shipments of spent nuclear fuel.

In 1471, during the Wars of the Roses, King Edward IV of the Yorkists defeated the Lancastrian Prince of Wales at the Battle of Tewkesbury. The town's main claim to fame nowadays is the abbey church of St Mary the Virgin, which the townspeople saved from destruction during the Dissolution of the Monasteries by King Henry VIII.
5. Situated at the confluence of the Rivers Allen and Kenwyn, which is the only city in Cornwall?

Answer: Truro

Truro is the administrative centre of Cornwall. The city's cathedral was completed in 1910.

Tunbridge Wells had its Royal status bestowed on it by King Edward VII in 1909. The oldest street in the town is The Pantiles, a colonnaded shopping centre that derives its name from the baked tiles with which it was paved in 1700.

Answer: Troon

Situated in Ayrshire on the banks of the Firth of Clyde, Troon was linked to Larne in Northern Ireland by P&O Ferries before the service was withdrawn in 2016. Royal Troon Golf Club hosted the British Open nine times between 1923 and 2016.

Answer: Telford

Designated in 1963, the Shropshire town of Telford is named after Thomas Telford, the 18th century Surveyor of Public Works for the county. The town is overlooked by The Wrekin, a 1,334 ft wooded hill.

Answer: Torquay

Torbay is sometimes referred to as the English Riviera due to its beaches and mild climate. Torquay itself expanded rapidly when the Royal Navy used the bay as an anchorage and the village as a supply base during the Napoleonic Wars. Tourists began flooding to the area in the early 20th century.
