The Boston University Bridge was named the Cottage Farm Bridge when it opened in 1928. It carries Route 2 over the Charles River, connecting Boston to Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Answer: Ogdensburg

Near Ogdensburg is the site of the "Battle of the Thousand Islands" between French and the British during the French and Indian War
3. What is the westernmost point in the contiguous United States?

Answer: Cape Alava, Washington

Cape Alava is on the western side of Tskawahyah Island. It is accessible at low tide via a three-mile boardwalk from a ranger station in the Olympic National Park.
4. Where is the geographical center of North America?

Answer: Rugby, North Dakota

Rugby got its name from the town of Rugby in Warwickshire, England. It was founded on the Great Northern Railroad in 1886.
5. The Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia was built in 1961.

Answer: False

It was built in 1940 at a time when Virginia still had segregation laws. Thus, it has twice as many toilet facilities than are necessary nowadays. At the time, there had to be separate restrooms for black and white employees.
6. Which US state only borders one other state?

Answer: Maine

Maine only borders New Hampshire in the US. It also borders the Atlantic Ocean and Canada.
7. According to the 2010 census, there were about the same number of people in Rhode Island as in Alaska.

Answer: False

Actually Rhode Island had a much higher population in 2010. It had approximately 1,052,567 at the time of the census. In contrast, Alaska only had about 710,231 people in 2010.
8. From 1936 through 1964, which highway was the longest in the USA?

Answer: Route 6

To honor Civil War veterans, Route 6 was named the Grand Army of the Republic Highway. It was the longest until the state of California did some renumbering of its highways in 1964, which left Route 6 a little shorter than Route 20.
9. Of all the East Coast states, which one has the shortest coastline?

Answer: New Hampshire

New Hampshire has only about 13-18 miles of coastline. As for the others answers: New Jersey has about 130 miles, New York has about 127 miles, and Rhode Island has 40 miles of coastline.
10. Of these US states, which one has the longest border with Canada?

Answer: Montana

Montana has around 600 miles that border Canada. Montana also holds the record of the most Canadian provinces along its border with three: British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.
