New York was originally named New Amsterdam by the Dutch settlers in the region. After it changed hands, it was renamed New York. One of the main financial centres of the world, the city has various important financial institutions based on Wall Street. Broadway is famous as the location of over forty different theatres.

The city of Delhi was the capital for various dynasties that ruled parts of the subcontinent since the Middle Ages, including different Mughal Emperors.
