Answer: False

The South Saskatchewan River does indeed pass through Saskatoon but its nickname is "Bridge City" or "City of Bridges" because of the numerous bridges built to accomodate transportation across the river. Saskatoon boasts five private transportaion bridges and two railway bridges.

Answer: The Delta Bessborough

This beautiful building is an important part of Saskatoon's history. Nicknamed the Castle on the Water, this hotel lives up to its name. Although renovations have been done, the Bessborough stays historically accurate.
3. Saskatoon's first High School built in 1909 was orginally called Saskatoon Collegiate. What is it now known as?

Answer: Nutana Collegiate

This is a beautiful collegiate, still with S's engraved in the bannisters for "Saskatoon Collegiate". There is an extensive artwork collection with some pieces dedicated to those who fought in both world wars. The front of this historical building has MCMIX engraved into it. No, it is not the name of a rapper who attended the school, it is Roman numerals standing for 1909, the year the school was built.

The abundant "Saskatoon berries" were named by the Cree as mis-sask-quah-too-min, which meant wild berries. John Lake, a settler, thought the Cree said Saskatoon. From then on the berries and the settlement became known as Saskatoon.

It was a small shack. The man who lived in it wove baskets for a living during the depression. It got its address when a vandal painted 2001 Saskatchewan Crescent on the door. While this shack's owner was visiting friends, a fire, with no evidence of how it could have started, burnt his home to the ground.

He served as mayor in 1906 and from 1911 to 1912. He lived from 1853 to 1936 and is buried at the Woodlawn Cemetary.
