Midge Hadley was Barbie's closest friend. Christie was her first African-American friend, and Stacey was her British cousin. Pairing Skipper with Alan would have been pretty daring - since Skipper was Barbie's pre-teen sister.

Answer: Nancy Drew

Nancy's first mystery was the "Secret of the Old Clock," published in 1939 under the name Carolyn Keene. The titian-haired sleuth lived with her widowed father, Carson, and their faithful housekeeper, Hannah Gruen. The other answers were also girl detectives.

Answer: Betsy

Tressy was an 11 1/2 inch doll, so could wear Barbie's clothes. Chrissy and Velvet were larger, free-standing dolls. Betsy was a baby doll who wet herself after drinking a bottle.

The Easy Bake Oven was inducted into the Toy Hall of Tame in 2006 and in 2011 was named by "Time" magazine as one of the top 100 toys of all time. It was first made in 1963 by Kenner and was available in yellow or turquoise. In 2002 a version was marketed to boys as the "Queasy Bake Cookerator."
