Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Iverson's Pits is named after ...?

Answer: Burial site of North Carolina Soldiers

Nearly 500 of General Iverson's North Carolinian soldiers were decimated by a Union volley on Oak Ridge July 1st, 1863. Most of the fallen soldiers were shot and left lying in the line they were marching in, and were buried in a long trench called "Iverson's Pits".
2. Confederate Cavalry General JEB Stuart returned to Gettysburg on the 2nd of July to find Lee upset with his disappearance. What items of value did JEB Stuart think Lee could use upon his return?

Answer: Wagons, ambulances, etc.

Through his raids in the north, JEB Stuart and his cavalry were able to obtain many supplies. Nearly 100 wagons were brought to Gettysburg by his actions. Lee was quoted as saying to Stuart, "Wagons are of little use to me...".

Lee did end up using these as they were helpful in hauling the wounded back to Virginia after the battle.
