The Normans were led by the Duke of Normandy, William in the battle of Hasting. He later became conqueror after he defeated King Harold II of England. He conquered England after this battle. King Harold II died in battle. This battle took place on Senlac Hill which was 6 miles (10 km) away from Hastings on October 14 of 1066.

The Greeks did put up a good fight. The movie "300" was based on this battle.

The Soviet Union was predicted to fall by many people. When it was disestablished, 15 new countries were created. The Soviet Union (USSR) lasted from 1922-1991. Vladimir Lenin was the first General Secretary and Mikhail Gorbachev was the last.

The economy was going well in the twenties until the stock market crashed. The economy started declining in the summer of 1929. In October, there were three days of sharp falls on the stock market - Black Thursday (October 24), Black Monday (October 28), and Black Tuesday (October 29).

These falls were followed by a deep and prolonged economic depression - the Great Depression which caused many people to become poor in the USA. It lasted an exceptionally long time and didn't end till World War II.

The Mayflower carried the Separatist Puritans known as the "Pilgrims" who wanted to escape religious persecution. They landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The pilgrims hoped to land near the mouth in Virginia but they got off course and landed at Cape Cod.

The Vietnam War was a war between the South Vietnam and its allies and North Vietnam and its allies. North Vietnam was Communist and wanted to take over South Vietnam. Ultimately, North Vietnam won and the whole country became Communist. The war was the longest war that the US had fought. Five presidents served through the war.
10. Which of these did NOT happen in 1965?

Answer: The Moon Landing
