Answer: Franz von Papen

Franz von Papen was made vice-chancellor when Hitler took power. He was later made the ambassador to Austria. He was aquitted by the Nuremberg Tribunal.
2. Which Nazi leader was born with a club foot?

Answer: Josef Goebbels

Josef Goebbels later became the Minister for Public Enlightenment (propaganda). He remained loyal to Hitler to the very end when he and his wife, Magda, poisoned their children and then killed themselves in the Fuehrer-Bunker.
3. Albert Speer became Minister of Munitions in 1942.

Answer: True

Albert Speer was Hitler's architect responsible for designing many of the buildings that the Nazis built during their reign. Apart from being an architect and Minister of Munitions, he was also Economics Minister before the war. He is often called the "good Nazi" because he countermanded the Hitler's orders to destroy all industrial plant in Germany and because was the only leading Nazi to show remorse at the Nuremburg Tribunal.

He was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and released in 1966.

Answer: The Wannsee Conference

This conference, chaired by Heydrich at a large SS house on the edge of Berlin, was concerned with the administrative details of the Holocaust. The Jews were transported to extermination camps, where they were worked to death or gassed. The most infamous of all the camps was Auschwitz. Others included Chelmno, Treblinka, Sobibor and Belzec.

The conference was short. It lasted only 90 minutes.

This steel works was supported finacially by other small buisnesses.

Answer: The swastika

The yellow star of David meant that they were Jewish. In Germany any Jews who didn't have obviously Jewish given names had to adopt the first names Israel and Sarah so that people would know they were Jews.

The swastika was originally a religious symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. However, in Germany from about 1910 onwards it became associated with racist, right-wing parties.
10. What were Adolf Hitler's parents called?

Answer: Alois and Klara

Adolf Hitler was born to Alois and Klara Hitler in 1889 in Braunau am Inn. Both were Roman Catholic and their children had a Roman Catholic upbringing.
