Answer: Pehr Evind Svinhufvud

Born in 1861, his first job in the Grand Duchy of Finland was a lawyer. During the Russian Revolution he worked extensively to secure Finland's independence, and even personally met Vladimir Lenin to secure its independence. During his life active in politics he was a supporter of the far right and even considered making Finland a monarchy.
2. This event led by Zhang Lexing took place simultaneously with the Taiping Rebellion and lasted from 1851 to 1868.

Answer: Nian Rebellion

The rebellion originally started because of severe flooding of the Yangtze River. Due to a lack of cooperation with Tiaping rebels, both rebellions failed to topple the Qing government. However, the Nian Rebellion helped cripple the Qing Dynasty due to the severe economic damage and loss of life from over a decade of warfare.
3. This faked incident was led by a Polish general in October of 1920, which resulted in the creation of the short lived Republic of Central Lithuania in the Vilnius region. Name this event that paved the way for the Polish annexation of the Vilnius region in Lithuania two years later.

Answer: Zeligowski's Mutiny

5. This term refers to the wide spread series of reforms initiated by the Shah in 1963 to westernize Iran.

Answer: White Revolution

The Pahlavi Shah enacted these reforms to help seal his power as a legitimate ruler, but ultimately they failed to rally enough support to stop a revolution that would oust him in the late seventies. Reforms included: allowing women's suffrage, the selling of national industries to privately controlled companies, and the forming of literacy corps to teach the illiterate.
6. This city can trace its history to a Celtic settlement as far back as the fourth century BC. Romans conquered this settlement in 222BC. It's modern name comes from Latin meaning 'middle plain'. Name this city that the short lived Golden Ambrosian Republic was centered around for less than three years.

Answer: Milan

The Golden Ambrosian Republic lasted from 1447 to 1450 before returning to a duchy again after Francesco Sforza took over the city. Today the city is largely known for its artwork from the Italian Renaissance, its key role in the fashion industry and its popularity with tourists.
7. Also known as the Central African Federation (CAF), this was a semi independent state of Africa that existed from 1953 to 1963 comprised of two British protectorates and one self governing colony. Name this federal realm of the British Crown whose first prime minister was Godfrey Martin Huggins.

Answer: Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland

It took nearly three years to establish the CAF with a lot of help of Sir Andrew Cohen. The British originally planned for this state to be a lasting country despite the rise in African nationalism.

Leaving behind no heir, the Eastern emperor Theodosius II appointed Valentinian III to the throne.
