Answer: New York City

The fire led to demands for reforms in working conditions among New York's garment workers.
2. In 1912, the year long Tripolitan War ended. What two countries were involved?

Answer: Turkey and Italy

The fight was about Italy's territorial aspirations in North Africa.

Thousands more were injured and much of the city of Halifax was destroyed.

Answer: 14

Most dealt with national sovereignty and war related issues, but the final 'point' was to lead to the formation of the League of Nations, the predecessor to the United Nations. The Senate rejected Wilson's points. He never recovered from the dissapointment.
9. At the Paris Peace Conference held at the Palace of Versailles in January 1919, all of the major combatants in World War I were represented except Russia and ____________?

Answer: Germany

A big mistake! Woodrow Wilson represented the U.S., Lloyd George represented Great Britain, Georges Clemenceau represented France, and Vittorio Orlando represented Italy. Thirty-two nations participated.

As for Russia, its government was not recognized internationally at the time and it had made a separate peace treaty with Germany.
