2. 7H - 8C - 8D - 9D CUT CARD: ? HAND SCORE IS 24

3. Which of these is not an impossible hand?

Answer: 28

19, 25, 26, and 27 are impossible to get for a hand score in a game of cribbage. 28 can be scored by having all 4 fives and cutting any face card.
4. 10H - 5H - JS - QD CUT CARD: ? HAND SCORE: 17

Answer: 10S

A 10 of spades will produce a hand total of 17. 4 sets of 15 scores 8. Double run scores 6. Pair scores 2. His Nobs scores 1. 8+6+2+1=17.
5. What would you need to score 12 points (assuming no other scoring combos)?

Answer: Four of a Kind

Four of a kind scores 12 points. Subsequently, three of a kind scores 6, a double run scores 8 (6 for the two runs and 2 for the pair), and a triple run scores 15 (9 for the runs and 6 for the three of a kind).
6. AH - 2H - 4H - 5H CUT CARD: 3H HAND SCORE: ?

Answer: 12

2 for the 15. 5 card run scores 5. 5 card flush scores 5. 5+5+2=12
7. You have 2 sevens and 2 eights. How many possible cards could be cut off to give a hand score of 24?

Answer: 8

The hand itself scores 12. You would need 2 double runs to score 24. To do this, you would have to cut off either of the 4 sixes or 4 nines to complete the runs.
8. With what hand is it not possible to cut a card that would give you a hand total of 24?

Answer: 4 fives

With 4 fives, the hand scores 20 on its own. You would either cut a non-face card which would add 0 points to your hand, or a face card which would add 8 points to your hand. With 4 threes, a 9 would give you 24. With 4 fours, a 7 would give you 24. With 4 sixes, a 3 would give you 24.
9. If you are holding all four Jacks in your hand, what is the minimum you can score with this hand, no matter what the cut card is?

Answer: 13

You would score 12 for the four of a kind, plus 1 for his nob as no matter what the cut card is, you would have the jack to match it.
10. You opponent lays down his hand of 4H - 5H - 5D - 6C with a cut card of 5S and pegs 24 points for this hand. Would your opponent be correct?

Answer: No

There are 4 sets of 15 for 8 points, the triple run scores 9, and the three of a kind scores 6. 8+9+6= 23 points
