In 1963, the H.B. Reese Company merged with The Hershey Company. The Hershey Company has been manufacturing other popular confections including M&M's, Hershey's Kisses and chocolate syrup.
3. Old McFizzy flavored caramel? What soda can I be?

Answer: Root Beer

Initial forms of Root Beer were flavored from the sassafras tree. In the 1960s, consumption of sassafras was linked to various forms of cancer and was discontinued in the manufacturing of Root Beer. Various flavorings including vanilla, caramel, sarsaparilla, cinnamon and molasses are commonly used. Popular brands of Root Beer include Dad's, Hires, and A&W.

Answer: Space Dust

Space Dust, also known as "Pop Rocks" were patented as early as 1961 but were not introduced to the public until 1975. Over the years various flavors have been introduced including strawberry, blue raspberry, apple, bubble gum and even chocolate.
5. Chewy candy flavored like anise... what sweet treat could I be?

Answer: Twizzler licorice

They were first introduced to the market in the mid-1970s. They come in a variety of flavors including orange, lemon, lime and raspberry.
7. Variety of flavors shaped like legumes... Oh what treat can this be?

Answer: Jelly beans

Shaped like kidney beans, the jelly bean is thought to have first been made around 1861 by confectioner William Schrafft to send to soldiers during the American Civil War. The first known advertisements however are believed to have been made around 1905. Due to their egg like shape, they became popular around Easter during the 1930s. Companies such as Jelly Belly have continued to manufacture jelly beans in a variety of flavors including blue raspberry, lemon, grape, licorice and even soft drink flavors. Jelly Belly even manufactured a box of gross flavors that included spoiled milk, dead fish and vomit.

Answer: Skittles

The inside of the egg also contains a surprise mini toy inside located within an yellow container (representing the egg yolk).

The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act prohibits the sale of candy that includes a toy embedded inside and therefore makes it illegal to purchase or bring Kinder Surprise eggs within the United States.

In 2017, Kinder Joy eggs were sold for the first time in the United States (but do not include the trinket inside).
10. A misleading name as it won't get you drunk... what candy can I be?

Answer: Wine gums

Popular flavors of wine gums include raspberry, blackberry, strawberry and red berry. They are similar to the "gumdrop" candy but do not have a sugar coating on their exterior.
