Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which angel is the Lord of the Sun?

Answer: Michael

Michael, the Angel of the South, reigns the Sun, Sunday, and Leo in the zodiac. He stands for health, vitality, energy, power, creativity and organization, and so does the sun. He also protects from pride, selfishness and egoism. Some things ascribed to him are the colors yellow and gold, the number 6, lions and all cats, and gold. Ancient deities of the Sun, like Re, Helios or Apollo, are also connected to him.

His element is fire. Michael is the patron of all managing directors and other principal functions.

He is probably the widest-known archangel, the leader of the last stand between good and evil, the protector of mankind, and the perfect reflection of divine light.
2. Who reigns over the Moon?

Answer: Gabriel

Gabriel is responsible for the Moon, Monday, and the zodiac sign of the Cancer. He is the only angel to be mentioned by his name in the Coran (Djibril in Arabian), and he is often depicted as a woman. Gabriel stands for sensitivity, dreams, feelings in general, death and intuition.

His metal is silver, his number is 9, and his element is water. Colors: silver and lilac/violet; animals: wolves, owls and nightingales. One of his flowers is a white lily. Deities connected to Gabriel are Isis, Astarte, Artemis and Diana, that is, ancient godesses of the moon and of hunting.

He is the patron of doctors, nurses, midwives, nannies and teachers. Gabriel is the Angel of the West. His duty is it to blow the trumpet on Judgement Day.
3. Which angel stands for Mercury?

Answer: Raphael

Raphael, the Angel of the East, is one of the best-known archangels, along with Michael, Gabriel and Uriel. He reigns Mercury, Wednesday, and Gemini and Virgo in the zodiac. He stands for language, intelligence, writing, communication, traveling and speed.

He can help us cope with sudden changes in our lives. Raphael's element is air, his metal is quicksilver, his number 8, and his colors orange and yellow. Animals that are under his protection are coyotes, apes/monkeys and ravens. Deities such as Hermes, Mercury and Thoth are connected to him, and he is the patron over the profession of translators and interpretors, which makes him rather important to me :)
4. Give me the name of the angel who reigns Venus.

Answer: Hagiel

Hagiel, the Lord of Venus, Friday, and Libra and Taurus in the zodiac. He is said to be one of the most beautiful angels, and he stands for grace, beauty, harmony, music, attraction, love and affection. He can help to ease pain, reconcile lovers and support family bonds.

His element is air, his metal copper, his number 7, and his colors are pink and green. Animals connected to Hagiel are harts, rabbits, doves, swallows and butterflies. Deities associated with him are Venus, Aphrodite and Ishtar, and he is the patron of musicians, actors, diplomats, ambassadors and designers.

It is said that the mere mentioning of his name protects from evil influences.
5. Who is the Lord of Mars?

Answer: Camael

Camael has been both feared and adored, as he stands for courage, passion and strength of mind as well as for destruction, brutality and war. He is, however, also a powerful protector and teacher. Camael reigns Mars, Tuesday, and Aries and Scorpio in the zodiac.

His element is fire, his metal iron, his number 5, his color red, and deities connected to him are all war-gods, like Mars, Ares and Tyr. His animals are foxes, rams, robins, scorpions and all insects that sting (except for bees, which belong to Zadkiel).

He is the patron of firemen, sportsmen, surgeons and all people in the military forces. Camael helps us to find the bravery and strength we need to face obstacles or enemies.
6. Who is the angel of Jupiter?

Answer: Zadkiel

Zadkiel reigns Jupiter, Thursday, and Sagittarius and Pisces. He is said to be the angel who prevented Abraham from sacrificing his son, Isaac. Zadkiel stands for justice, generosity, fairness, grace, and friendliness, and he is the patron of all lawyers/judges, fishermen and mariners. Zadkiel's element is fire, his metal tin, his number 4, his colors blue and purple, and his animals are whales, elephants, swans, ducks and bees. Deities are all principal gods, such as Amun, Zeus, Jupiter, Wotan and even Jahwe.

But he also stands for quite secular pleasures, such as gambling and horse-racing.
7. Which angel stands for Saturn?

Answer: Cassiel

Cassiel, the intelligence of Saturn, is also known as the "Angel of Tears", as he is responsible for the tough things in life - solitude, restriction, discipline and strictness, but also acceptance, wisdom and humility. He reigns Saturn, Saturday and Aquarius. Cassiel's element is earth, his number 3, his metal lead, and his colors are black and purple. Animals such as turtles, crows and beavers are under his protection, and he is the patron of teachers, archeologists and dentists. Cassiel is responsible for the aging of things (fossils, for example).

He is connected to the ancient gods Cronos and Saturn, who also stand for time and age.
8. Who reigns Uranus?

Answer: Uriel

Uriel is the angel of Uranus, Libra and (together with Cassiel) Saturday. He represents freedom, independence, intensity and new ideas. He can slow down the more unpleasant influences of Uranus, such as stubbornness, nervosity and inflexibility. The German god of thunder, Thor, is associated with Uriel, as well as the element earth and the colors green and brown.

He is the Angel of the North and one of the most powerful archangels. Uriel is said to be the one who will tear down the gates of hell on Judgement Day, and he is also responsible for retaliation and revolution.
9. Which angel goes with Neptune?

Answer: Asariel

Asariel reigns Neptune and, together with Zadkiel, Pisces and Thursday. The planets Neptuen and Pluto are not as important in angelology as the others, as they are so far away that their influence cannot reach us. Asariel represents intuition, imagination and mysticism as well as deception, and he is the one to ask for help if you have been lead astray.

His element is water, and deities connected to him are, of course, Neptune and Poseidon, the Roman/Greek gods of water.
10. Finally: Who is the angel of Pluto?

Answer: Azrael

Azrael, the Lord of Pluto, also reigns Tuesday and Scorpio (together with Camael). He is responsible for prediction and second sight, and he watches over the dangerous influences of Pluto, such as terrorism and fanatism. The ancient gods Pluto, Hades, Hel, Osiris and Anubis are connected to Azrael, and he is said to be the one who killed all the first-born sons of the Egyptians during the ten plagues. That is why he is sometimes referred to as the "Angel of Death", although actually Gabriel and Cassiel are responsible for death, as well as another angel by the name of Tzaphkiel.

I hope you enjoyed this quiz. Yes, it's pretty esoterical, but all the same it's interesting, isn't it?
