1. Who first made cornflakes?

Answer: Dr John Kellogg

Cornflakes were created commercially by Dr John Kellogg, who was also the founder of many other leading brands of cereal and also the Kellogg's cereal company. Charles W. Post founded Post Cereal Co. Henri Nestlé, after merging with another company called 'Anglo-Swiss' was founded by brothers Charles and George Page. Robert Smith was one of the founders of General Mills.

Answer: 'Granose'

Granose, despite being very similar with cornflakes, was not exactly the same thing. Granose, like many of Dr Kellogg's other inventions, were tasteless, and weren't too popular. After experimenting with the original recipe, Dr Kellogg finally invented cornflakes in 1902. 'Frosted Flakes' is also a creation of Dr Kellogg's, and 'Flakey Flakes' and 'Flakes' both describe our wonderful team.

Answer: The Sweetheart of the Corn

'Kellogg's Toasted Corn Flakes' is written underneath the young woman and the box of cornflakes, while 'Won its Favor Through its Flavor' is underneath that and 'The Favorite Cereal in Millions of Homes" is underneath that. There is also the Kellogg's 'signature'.

Answer: green

The famous mascot for cornflakes is the rooster's head. The head is usually shown green, the eye white, the beak yellow and the blade and wattles red.
5. On Kellogg's cornflakes boxes from the 60s, 70s and the 90s, which of these words is on the box in the motto?

Answer: 'sun'

The 1960s, 70s and 90s packet all have the word 'sun' written on them. The 60s and 90s motto was 'The Sunshine Breakfast' while in the 70s it was 'Open the Big Box Shake out the Sun'. The 80s packet had 'The Original and Best', while the 50s and the 2000s ones do not have a motto.

The company 'Post Cereal' was founded in 1895, the year after cornflakes was registered, by Charles W. Post. 'Post Toasties' was first called 'Elijah's Manna', but after angry clergymen protested about the name, it was changed to 'Post Toasties'. 'Post Toasties' manufacturing has been discontinued in April 2006.

Coco Pops is often used to make chocolate crackles, which is quite similar to cornflakes honey crackles. The only difference is the colour and a tiny difference in taste.

Answer: Marshmallow Alpha-Bits

Marshmallow ALpha-Bits was introduced in 1990 by Post Cereal. Rice Krispies (Rice Bubbles) was created by Eugene McKay in 1927 for the Kellogg's company. Sultana Bran was another version of Raisin Bran, marketed by General Mills and Kraft Foods. It was introduced to Kellogg's in 1942. Just Right is similar to Sultana Bran, but also contains oats.
