Fred Walker (a businessman) had the idea and Dr Callister (a chemist) helped him to formulate the actual product known as Vegemite. James Kraft agreed to register the patent of Vegemite. In 1926, he and Fred Walker started a joint venture called The Kraft Walker Food Company.
