Mabel, Sid Sorokin's secretary, gives Hines some much needed advice about not being jealous over Gladys, his current love interest. Reta Shaw played Mabel in the original Broadway cast and Eddie Foy, Jr. played Hines.

"I'm Not at All in Love" is a song featuring Catherine "Babe" Williams, Chairman of the Grievance Committee, and the other sewing room girls as she tries to convince them that she is not romantically interested in the factory's new superintendent, Sid Sorokin. Babe was originally played by Janis Paige on Broadway, while Doris Day played Babe in the 1957 movie.

Sid sings "Hey There" in the first act, while Babe sings the reprise in the second act. John Raitt played Sid in the movie alongside Doris Day, as well as originating the role on Broadway.

Prez sings the song "Her Is" first with Gladys, then sings a "Her Is" reprise with Mae. Prez is the head of the union and, despite being married, is quite the ladies' man. The role was originated on Broadway by Stanely Prager.

Babe is hesitant to start a relationship with Sid because she fears that differences at work would impact their happiness together. Although the two recognize that they love each other, work conflicts inevitably separate them for a while.

This song is sung by Babe, Sid, and the Ensemble at the annual company picnic. Kelli O'Hara played Babe in the 2006 revival of "The Pajama Game" alongside Harry Connick, Jr. as Sid.

Gladys is the secretary of Mr. Hasler, the head of the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory. Carol Haney played Gladys in the original Broadway production; however, Shirley MacLaine first started her career off as Haney's understudy. She played Gladys for seven months while Haney was recovering from a broken ankle.
