1. How many children was Nut said to have had?

Answer: 5

Nut was the Egyptian sky goddess, and was thought to be either the daughter/granddaughter of Ra, the sun god. In this myth, she really wanted to become a mother, but she didn't ask Ra for permission to have children. This created problems later in the legend.
2. When Ra discovered that Nut had become pregnant without his permission, how did he react?

Answer: He became furious and swore to kill the children.

Ra was extremely furious with Nut, and made sure the children couldn't be born. He cast a spell over the year, making sure the Nut's children would not be born within the year.
3. When Nut learned of Ra's feelings regarding her pregnancy, she was terrified and went to Thoth, god of wisdom and writing, for help. What plan did he come up with to save her children?

Answer: He would add some extra days to the year.

Thoth was seen by the Egyptians to be the creator of writing and speech, and he was respected by many for his great wisdom.

Answer: Red Land

'Deshret' was the name given to the desert area in Sahara, just west to Egypt, or Kemet. Seth was said to have dwelt in the desert, which is why the desert was associated with chaos, sandstorms and infertility.
