1. I had to get to the Bee by bus, because neither of my parents can be here. Who am I?

Answer: Olive

Her mother is in an Ashram in India. Her father has to work. While onstage, she has a beautiful fantasy about her parents being with her and supporting her. After the Bee is over, she acts the whole thing out for her father.
2. Everyone seems to be unable or unwilling to pronounce my last name correctly. Who am I?

Answer: William

William Barfee's last name should be pronounced "Bar-fay". Unfortunately, the accent ague is not important to people other than William. He also uses his foot to help him spell words. He calls it his "Magic Foot". He grow up to become incredibly handsome.

Vice Principal Doug Panch is not the Bee's normal "giver of words". He is filling in for the school district's superintendent. He has a breakdown during the Bee. He realizes he is not living his life in a way that will make him happy.

Leaf Coneybear is home-schooled and feels that he is incredibly stupid. On a positive note, he ends up having cats as an adult!

By the end of the Bee, Rona realizes there is more to life than this. She eventually leaves to start spelling bees in other countries.

Mitch serves as the "comfort counselor" for the Bee. He ends up finding that he enjoys caring for the kids.

Unfortunately for Chip, he is distracted by a pretty girl in a tight sweater. He is the first non-audience-volunteer speller out of the Bee. He ends up comfortable with himself--eventually.

Logainne's two dads combined their last names to make hers: "SchwartzAndGrubenierre". Her parents fight frequently in front of her, making her very unhappy. She ends up becoming the Secretary of Education and overcomes her lisp.

A unique aspect of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" is that four volunteers are chosen from the audience and made to be a part of the musical. It adds an air of unpredictability and fun!
