Answer: He wasn't satisfied with any of the possibilites

He didn't leave Helen everything because she was an Abernathie by blood. Tim was an invalid. Cora had not been heard from in years. George was thought to be unstraight. Susan's and Rosamund's husbands were frowned upon. Since he didn't like any of the choices, he split it between everyone.

2. Who sent Miss Gilchrist the wedding cake?

Answer: John and Mary

She ate the cake despite not knowing who these people were?

Answer: Susan
