Stafford Nye is flying from Frankfurt to London when a young woman persuades him to swap identities with her. Nye drinks drugged beer so she can take his cloak and passport. There is a rising tide of anarchy what has to be defeated before there is a resurgence of Nazi domination.
2. In "Nemesis", Miss Marple reads of the death of Jason Rafiel. But which Miss Marple novel did he appear in?

Answer: A Caribbean Mystery

Miss Marple will benefit from Mr Rafiel's will, if he can find out if young Verity Hunt was murdered by his son or not. He gave her the nickname "Nemesis" while holidaying in the Caribbean.
3. In "Elephants Can Remember", how many years ago did Celia Ravenscroft's parents die?

Celia Ravenscroft is Ariadne Oliver's goddaughter. She is due to marry Desmond Burton-Cox - much to Desmond's mother's displeasure - but wants to find out more about her parents' deaths first of all. Poirot and Mrs Oliver delve into the past. Did Sir Alistair Ravenscroft kill his wife, Lady Molly, or was it the other way round? And how did Molly's sister, Dolly (real name Dorothea) fit into the story?
4. In "Postern of Fate", Tommy and Tuppence investigate a sixty-year old murder. But how did young Alexander Parkinson die?

Answer: Leukaemia

This is Tommy and Tuppence's final crime novel. They have retired to a resort town, Hollowquay. But while reading a collection of old children's books, Tuppence finds a code in one of them. The book belonged to Alexander Parkinson, and from certain underlined letters, Tuppence deciphers "Mary Jordan did not die naturally. I think it was one of us. I think I know which one." It is discovered that Mary Jordan worked for the British Intelligence.
5. In "Curtain: Poirot's Last Case", Hercule Poirot eventually dies. A newspaper published a front-page obituary for Poirot. Which newspaper?

Answer: The New York Times

The novel takes place at Styles, where Poirot solved his first published mystery. It was not published until 1975, although Agatha wrote it during World War Two. Captain Hastings also appears in this novel.
6. In "Sleeping Murder", how was Lily Kimble killed?

Answer: Strangled

Gwenda Reed is from New Zealand, and recently married Giles Reed. While her husband is away, she buys Hillside, a house in England. But the house has a strange effect on Gwenda, she feels as if she has lived there before - which is not possible. She goes to stay with distant relations of Giles, Joan and Raymond West.

She meets Miss Jane Marple, the aunt of Raymond. This is a murder mystery where the real crime happened many years before.
7. In "Black Coffee", who assists Hercule Poirot to solve the crime?

Answer: Captain Hastings

This was Christie's first murder play, first performed in 1930. A secret formula has gone missing from a scientist's study and the scientist is soon found dead. Charles Osborne made "Black Coffee" into a full length novel in 1998.
8. In "The Unexpected Guest", how did Richard Warwick die?

Answer: Shot

Michael Starkwedder is travelling in Wales during a heavy fog, and stops at an unlocked house. There, he finds Richard Warwick dead, and his wife, Laura, standing over him with a gun. Richard was wheelchair-bound but a cruel man. Michael tries to adjust the circumstances and makes up a story, with Laura, that Richard was being blackmailed.

There is a very unexpected twist at the end of the story. This is a mystery play, first performed in 1958. Charles Osborne made it into a full-length novel in 1999.
9. In "Spider's Web", how did the victim die?

Answer: Blow to the head

This is another mystery play, first performed in 1954. Clarissa Hailsham-Brown is very content with life, living with her husband and teenaged stepdaughter. She is holding a house-party for friends. Oliver Costello, a brutal man addicted to drugs,who is married to Clarissa's husband's first wife, threatens that his wife wants her daughter to live with them. Pippa, Clarissa's stepdaughter, is very disturbed by this prospect. Later in the novel, Oliver is found dead in Clarissa's drawing room, hit over the head. Clarissa and her house-guests have to cover it up before the police arrive, and hide the body. Charles Osborne made it into a full-length novel in 2000.

"The Mousetrap" was the longest-running play in the 20th century. Agatha originally wrote "Three Blind Mice" as a radio play - the royal family asked her to, to celebrate the eightieth birthday of Queen Mary. "Three Blind Mice" became a two act stage play. A killer threatens the guests of a guest house, while they are stranded, during a snowstorm.
