After Jacob promises that he would bring the food and clothes to Leah and Seth Clearwater, Esme smiles and Jacob sees the reminder, by noticing that Esme had dimples.

Answer: Charles Evenson

Charles Evenson was a son of a family friend. He fought in the first World War and was really abusive, so Esme was relieved that he left. Alexander is a name I made up. Carlisle Cullen is Esme's husband now (they got married in the 1920s), and James is the vampire who tracks Bella.

3. Why did Esme jump off a cliff?

Answer: Her baby died

Esme had a baby boy who died a few days after his birth from a lung infection. She was taken to a morgue (people thought she was dead) and Carlisle bit her.

She broke her leg and the family doctor was out of town. By the time her parents reached the small town hospital, it was dark outside. Dr. Cullen treated her, and they both never forgot the experience.
