Answer: Jack Mort

Jack Mort is an important character in the series in that he is the one responsible for Odetta's multiple personality syndrome (which is caused when he pushes a brick out of a window and it lands on her head) and for her missing legs (he pushes Odetta in front of a moving train).

However, he does not become a part of the ka-tet. Roland pushes him in front of the same train that Odetta was pushed in front of and he dies. Odetta and Detta are then forced to acknowledge each other's presence and combine to become Susannah.

2. Jake becomes fast friends with a boy from Calla Bryn Sturgis. What is this boy's name?

Answer: Benny Slightman Jr.

Benny Slightman Jr. later dies during the battle against the Wolves.
