Ritsuka Aoyagi is the main character of "Loveless". He looks up to his older brother greatly, and is hurt by his supposed death. Seimei is a father figure to his brother until his death, seeing how their dad is never around. When their mother abuses Ritsuka, Seimei alwayss defends him and/or patches him up.

Seimei requests Soubi's service when he is fourteen. Soubi faithfully serves Seimei until his 'death'. Seimei tells Soubi that he should serve his brother, Ritsuka, upon Seimei's demise.

In volume two, Ritsuka logs into Seimei's computer using his true name, "Loveless". Once he is inside, he opens up a folder and a letter appears on screen with pictures. In it, Seimei tells Ritsuka that he is going to be killed by a group known as Septimal Moon.

Nisei Akame is a black haired, feminine male. He first appears in volume five, but he and Seimei have more interaction in volume six. He is spying on Ritsuka for his older brother when Seimei talks to him on his cell phone. When Soubi finds and confronts him, Nisei calls Seimei and lets Soubi listen to his voice.

Loveless is the true name of Ritsuka, Seimei's brother. Thoughtless does not appear in the manga. Breathless is the team of Ai and Midori, who make their debut in volume one. Seimei's true name is Beloved. He tells Ritsuka what his true name is a short time before his death.

The name is carved into Soubi's neck by Seimei, as is revealed in volume 8. In volume eight it is revealed that Beloved appears on Seimei's right hand like a tattoo. It is written from the knuckle of his middle finger up to his wrist.

In volume eight, Ritsuka, Soubi, and Kio arrive at Seven Voices together. However, since Kio is not affiliated with the school, he is not allowed inside. Instead of going to the hot springs, he just waits outside. There he is confronted and knocked unconscious by Nisei. Seimei appears and speaks to Nisei after Kio is knocked out.

Soubi is not a member of Septimal Moon. Nagisa and Seven have no contact with Seimei while he is at Seven Voices, but they are aware of his presence. Ritsu and Seimei meet in a hallway after all the students are ordered to go back to their rooms and stay there.

There is a lot of tension between the two of them, and they argue. Seimei chastises Ritsu for giving Soubi to him, though Ritsu clearly wanted the blonde for himself. (Volume eight)

It is not shown exactly when it happens, but Ritsu mentions that Seimei pulled a knife on him at some point during their argument. Nagisa-sensei takes care of the blinded Ritsu in the hospital ward. Seimei then writes a message on a wall for Ritsuka: "Ritsuka, I'm back". (volume eight)

Ritsuka and Seimei finally reunite in volume eight, in the library. All the doors are locked by Seven Voices staff in order to lure Seimei to the library for a final confrontation. Natsuo and Yoji are sent after him by Ritsu, much to Nagisa-sensei's annoyance.

They are unable to confront him because he somehow makes the air around them heavy. The spell is broken when Ritsuka bursts into the library, Soubi in tow.

Answer: "Maybe it's because I kill."

In volume eight, Ritsuka is full of questions as he confronts his brother. Among his many questions is "Why does everyone hate you?" to which Seimei mysteriously replies, "Maybe it's because I kill". This surprises Ritsuka because he does not believe that Seimei is capable of murder.

Seimei tells Ritsuka this in volume eight. He says it in an attempt to get Ritsuka to agree to join him. Seimei goes on about how much he loves his brother, and how Ritsuka should give himself up to Seimei completely, because that's what love is. Eventually Soubi steps in, even going so far as to get between them.

Getting angered by Soubi's words, Seimei decides to abandon his former thoughts of bringing Soubi away with him, and instead leaves him behind. He orders Soubi to break open the window and, because Soubi can't refuse Seimei's orders, he uses Wordspell magic to break the window. Seimei goes through the broken window when no one is paying attention and disappears into the night. (Volume eight)

Answer: "I'm a weakling and a coward, so I strike first. And when I strike, I kill."

This occurs in volume six. Seimei is staying with a woman named Chaco-san and her bodyguard, Nakahira. Nakahira has an extreme dislike of Seimei and thinks he is hiding something. Chaco-san tells Nakahira that Seimei is fighting a battle against six people, and that he will strike first because a person who strikes first wins. Nakahira says that he'd rather be hit first. Seimei tells him that he is strong for wanting to be hit first. Seimei then says, "I'm a weakling and a coward, so I strike first. And when I strike, I kill".

Answer: Kio

Misaki is Seimei's mother, who wants him to come home. Yuiko and Yayoi do not know Seimei, because they meet Ritsuka after Seimei's death. When they first meet in volume seven, Kio tells Ritsuka that he doesn't, and never did, like Seimei. He says he doesn't like Seimei because he is violent, and Kio is a pacifist. Ritsuka doesn't believe him, but the two become friends, anyway.
