Situated in Turkey, "Afyonkarahisar" is the base from which Lombar Hisst has begun importing Earth drugs to Voltar, to further his scheme.

Gunsalmo Silva was the former bodygaurd of "Holy Joe" Corleone, and had turned traitor, and murdered him. Of course "The Gutter" has no idea that Gunsalmo has been kidnapped by the Apparatus, and taken to Voltar.

In a ploy to get Heller killed, Gris arranges for him to be given the name of the son of the wealthiest man on the planet. He is later given the name Jerome Terrance Wister by a lawyer named Bury. Horsey Mary Schmeck is the Heroin addicted prostitute he saves from the police, who later dies of drug withdrawl. And of course Bugs Bunny is the Cartoon Character adored by Officer Gris, who considers him a master of Applied Psycology.

The aged grey Cadillac that Heller buys figures prominently in the later books. Heller buys it mainly because it has a chemical burning engine, and is known as a fuel hog. He plans to use it, with major modifications, to prove that his "Gasless Carborator" works.

Agents Stupewitz and Maulin nearly have a heart attack they get so exited when they read the name on Heller's birth certificate. They call Bury, of Swindle and Crouch, who is Delbert John Rockecenter's personal lawyer, and thus set off the series of events that end up with Heller being renamed Jerome Terrance Wister.

A taxi driver, mistaking Heller's desire to find a place to live as a desire for some action, takes Heller to the highest class Cat House in New York. Located directly across form the U.N. building, "The Gracious Palms" does business with the Ambassadors from many nations. On his first entrance Heller ends up saving the Manager, Vantagio Meretrici, from certain doom at the hands of the Faustino's mob's henchmen, because he refused to sell drugs to the Ambassadors. "The Gracious Palms" is owned and run by the Corleone mob, headed by the widow of "Holy Joe" Corleone, who was killed by Gunsalmo Silva.

After having "Bang Bang" Rimbombo, of the Corleone mob, rescue his Cadillac from the booby-traps planted by the Faustino mob, he gets it rebuilt from the ground up, and has the garage paint it the most glaring color they have. While the reason for this escapes Officer Gris, it later becomes clear that he wants the car to stand out when he runs it through the Marathon Demolition Derby in Book 4, "An Alien Affair".

Poor "Bang-Bang" is a former Marine forced into joining the Army R.O.T.C. by Heller, because of his excessive class load. He thinks it's funny, a Marine spying on the Army.

Answer: Miss Simmons

Miss Simmons is infuriated at Heller because of his influence in being admitted to "Empire University" as a Senior, despite the extremely low grades the documents given to him by Bury of "Swindle and Crouch" show. She gives him an overbalanced classload in an attempt to force him to fail, and, as a back-up measure, forces him to take "Nature Appreciation 101", her own class, to try to instill in him a love of nature so that he will not blow the world up after he graduates.

She is slightly unbalanced herself, being an anti-nuclear fanatic.
