Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Before Bill left Bon Temps, did he tell Sookie to hide his computer?

Answer: Yes

He told her to look in the hiding spot he had made in her house. If his computer was not there, she was to go to his home (during the day) and retrieve it and hide it herself. He also told her to wait eight weeks before becoming suspicious of his absence. She later learned that he had planned to come home way before that length of time, but not to see her.
2. Bill did not tell Sookie where he was really going. What city did he use as a metaphor for his real destination?

Answer: Seattle

Through Pam and Eric, Sookie found out that Seattle was a place he had lived with a former lover named Lorena. Before Sookie had even left for Jackson, Mississippi, her view of Bill was beginning to dim. It's always hard when you realize that what had seemed so special was really just someone else's passing of time.
3. Bubba saved Sookie from a werewolf at Merlotte's.

Answer: True

After Bill left town, Eric sent Bubba over to Sookie's to protect her. Sookie did not know the whole story at that point, so she was getting more alarmed knowing she needed extra protection. She felt comfortable with Elvis, I mean "Bubba", and he went to work with her.

She went to Sam to ask if the vamp could wait in his office while she worked, and she was followed in by a werewolf. Bubba came in behind the shifter and killed him. Sam and Bubba removed the corpse from the bar, while Sookie kept officer Kevin out of that area. Pam arrived later to take over for Bubba.
4. Who did Eric send with Sookie to Jackson?

Answer: Alcide

Alcide Herveaux was also a werewolf. He was from a wealthy family, who owned their own business. The vamps owned a gambling marker on his father, so he had no choice but to help Sookie on her quest to save Bill. The duo were at ease with one another very quickly, and a chemistry brewed just at the surface many times. Alcide filled Sookie in on more Were (they used that term to refer to shifters) facts she needed to know and allowed her to meet his sister Janice. Alcide was coming off of a bad breakup with a woman named Debbie, also a shifter, and Sookie helped him out in that regard.
5. The King of Mississippi was a vampire named Russell. Where did Sookie meet him for the first time?

Answer: Club Dead

Sookie and Alcide went to Club Dead (also known as Josephine's) to investigate Bill's disappearance. The details were so unclear and up for speculation that Eric thought Sookie could mind read the human patrons of the place for information. She was able to get some hits, and discovered Bill was being tortured with a lack of sleep.

She at least knew he hadn't "gone over" voluntarily to the other side. While there for the first time, Sookie was accosted by a biker werewolf (Jerry Falcon). It was in the course of being saved from him that she met Russell Edgington, who invited her back the next night. Sometime during that same night Ole Jerry Falcon was killed and stuffed into a closet at Alcide's apartment.
6. Who did Sookie have to kill before she could get Bill off of Russell's compound?

Answer: Lorena

Isn't it just like Sookie's life that she would have to kill the one vampire she probably felt most justified in staking? Well, that is exactly what happened! After being staked herself at Club Dead, Sookie is taken to Russell's compound to heal and rest.

She is allowed, and urged, off the compound the next day, so Eric retrieved a Lincoln for her to drive. Bubba, who'd stayed on her trail this whole time, told Eric and Sookie where to find Bill. When Sookie located him the next morning, Lorena discovered her trying to free Bill from his silver chains. Lorena attacked Sookie, and Sookie used the same stake to kill Lorena.

Afterward, (Lorena did not turn to dust) Sookie stashed the vampire's shriveled body in the swimming pool.
7. Sookie left Bill behind in Jackson and Eric drove her back to Bon Temps.

Answer: True

She saved Bill and drove him back to Alcide's apartment. When she checked on him inside the parking garage, someone shoved her into the trunk of the Lincoln with a disoriented Bill. Hours passed, and as evening fell Bill woke up. He was severely injured and starved and pounced on Sookie to save his life. To put it mildly, Bill assaulted Sookie in various ways before he realized who she was. Eric retrieved the pair from the trunk and they went up to Alcide's apartment.

Not long afterward, Debbie Pelt arrived to see Alcide and the trio hid in an adjacent apartment.

While there, Sookie realized she needed to be done with Bill and left him behind in Jackson while Eric drove her home.
8. Was Sookie attacked immediately after she arrived home in Bon Temps?

Answer: Yes

When Eric and Sookie arrived at her place, they had an argument over money, or her lack of it. Eric was surprised Bill hadn't offered Sookie any money to help her out, and Sookie informed Eric that Bill was spending all of his on the Bellefleurs. Then, Sookie was attacked by more werewolves inside her home, being beaten yet again.

After Eric and Bill saved her, she went to sleep and awoke to a brand new driveway! Eric had asked her why it was in disrepair and thus ensued the argument about money. Eric sent a crew over to fix it the next day, while Sookie slept off her wounds.

It was her brother Jason who alerted her to the new driveway and parking area in front of her home.
9. Which of these folks did NOT come by to see Sookie after she returned to Bon Temps at the end of the book?

Answer: Chow

Jason, Arlene, Bill, and Eric also came by to see Sookie. Bill and Eric were there after the werewolves attacked, but again the next evening. Bubba and Pam arrived before Eric and Bill that next evening, and Jason, Arlene, and Alcide came by earlier that day. Bubba brought very interesting news with him on his visit, and Alcide left Sookie wanting more visits from him.

He promised he'd be back to see her soon.
10. Last, but not least, Bubba was able to reveal the killer of Jerry Falcon. Jerry was the werewolf biker killed and stuffed into the closet at Alcide's place. Who did Bubba reveal the killer to be?

Answer: Himself

Sookie realized that Bubba had most likely never stopped his mission to watch out for her. So, she asked him to go over the events leading up to the discovery of Falcon in the closet. Bubba admitted that Falcon had followed Sookie to Alcide's place, and then broke into the apartment. Bubba, ever diligent, followed the wolf inside and killed him to save Sookie's life.

Not knowing what to do with Falcon's body, he stuffed it into a closet thinking Eric would figure out what to do. Sookie and Alcide were the ones who rid themselves of the body, and were glad to finally figure out who'd killed him.

In the final pages of the book, Eric and Bill begin a battle over Sookie, so she rescinded her invitation into her home for both vampires. If only Buffy could have rid herself of them so easily!
