As a refresher, this main character was born in Moscow, Russia. She had four brothers, the youngest being twelve years older than she.
2. Where was Danina taken for her ballet?

Answer: St. Petersburg

She was taken there by her father and two of her brothers in April after her seventh birthday.
3. What was the name of Danina's elderly ballet teacher?

Answer: Madame Markova

When Danina first met Madame Markova, she was scared of the stern, almost hostile tone in her voice. Madame wore all black, and her hair was all black as well.
4. On what day did Danina fall ill upon the dance floor?

Answer: Christmas

If you remember, Danina fainted while practicing, and Madame Markova immediately went to her. She was very ill with influenza, which in that day was very dangerous.
