Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Crystal Norris, Jason's girlfriend, experienced a tragedy. What happened to her?

Answer: she had a miscarriage

Crystal refused to go to a hospital, even when the bleeding continued. Jason went to Sookie for help and she called Dr. Ludwig. The doctor agreed to travel to Crystal, and was able to save her. Ludwig had tended Sookie's wounds, and gave an order of therapy to heal her, after she was attacked by the maenad Callisto in "Living Dead in Dallas", book two.

In "All Together Dead", we find out that Sookie had to pay Dr. Ludwig as well.
2. Which play did Sookie and Quinn go see on their first date?

Answer: The Producers

Quinn was able to procure very good seats to the show, which was held at the Strand Theater in Shreveport. During their date they were attacked by teen-aged werewolves, newly bitten and on a mission. The young werewolves were killed afterward, during their stint in jail. It wasn't until later that Sookie figured out exactly who had sent the animals after her. Sandra Pelt, sister of Debbie Pelt, had turned the boys into wolves and sent them after Sookie.

Real world fun fact: Construction on the Strand Theater began in 1923 by two families. They were the Saenger and Ehrlich brothers. In 1977 the theater was placed on the National Register of Historic Places and in 1980 it had a grand re-opening after a massive renovation.
3. Who was killed on Sookie's property on a Wednesday, although she did not find out until Friday?

Answer: Gladiola

Gladiola was the half demon niece of Mr. Cataliades, the queen's lawyer. She'd been sent by her uncle to deliver a message to Sookie. He arrived on Friday expecting Sookie to be ready to head straight to New Orleans. They searched Sookie's place and found her dead from a large wound. The lawyer's other niece, Diantha, helped him burn Gladiola's body. They had to do that because demons do not decay. No animals or insects will eat demons, so their remains do not disappear over time.

Sookie met Cataliades in the story "One Word Answer" in the vampire anthology "Bite". He came to tell her of her cousin Hadley's death. MaryJanice Davidson, Laurell K. Hamilton, Angela Knight and Vickie Taylor also have stories in the novel.
4. During their photo shoot, Sookie told Claude to imagine a few men to help him get into the romantic mood. Which of these men did Sookie NOT tell Claude to fantasize about?

Answer: Neil Patrick Harris

Claude was one of the sexiest men Sookie had ever seen. She wasn't the only woman to have this opinion, not that it did any of them any good. Claude is Claudine's twin brother and Sookie had agreed to be in the photo shoot with him in the previous novel.
5. Sookie was invited to a double wedding.

Answer: True

Sookie encountered Portia Bellefleur inside Tara Togs. Tara helped Sookie pick out an outfit for her date with Quinn, but not before she finished up with Portia. Portia was marrying an accountant from Clarice at the same time her brother, Andy, was marrying school teacher Halleigh Robinson. Portia wanted Sookie to work, but Halleigh invited Sookie as a guest.
6. Did Bill accompany Sookie to New Orleans?

Answer: Yes

Sadly, while she was there she found out more disheartening information about her first love. Eric told her that Bill had been ordered by the queen to seek Sookie out and acquire her trust, by any/all means necessary. Sookie told Bill she never wanted to see him again, and she meant it.

She did see him again, at the end of the book, and he saved her life. She later gave him the chance to tell her that despite the circumstance behind their meeting, he had loved her and still loves her. She told him simply that she did not know how she could not hate him.
7. Who was the spirited young witch who owned Hadley's apartment building?

Answer: Amelia

Amelia Broadway had placed a stasis spell on the apartment after the queen had instructed that it remain exactly as Hadley left it. Hadley and the queen had been a serious romantic couple before Hadley "died for good". As a vampire, Hadley had already died once, before being murdered by a vamp named Waldo.

The three incorrect choices have been characters from "The Young and the Restless" at some point in time.
8. What was unique about Jake Purifoy, the vampire who rose in Hadley's apartment?

Answer: he was already a werewolf

No one could recall if that had ever happened before, as vampires and weres usually barely tolerated each other, if they had anything to do with one another at all. But, before too much wondering had the chance to happen, Jake rose and attacked Amelia and Sookie.

In the melee, Sookie took a savage bite to her arm. She got that bad news about Bill in the hospital and walked out of the ER before she was tended to. Amelia gathered some witches together a bit later and performed a reconstruction spell.

They were able to see the events on the night of Jake's death, but not who'd tried to kill him. Hadley turned Jake to save him from total death. The queen attended this ceremony and later confided a secret to Sookie. Jade Flower turned out to be Jake's killer.
9. Sophie-Anne Leclerq, the Queen of Louisiana, recalled her life story to Sookie. Which statement was NOT part of her revelation?

Answer: She'd been born in Egypt

The queen revealed that she'd been born, as a human, 1100 years prior. When she was about ten years old, a man came to her small town peddling goods. He carried a disease with him, possibly influenza, and her entire town was dead in two weeks. Only she and a boy named Clovis lived. Clovis hated her, raped her, and then sold her out to acquire necessities.

A vampire named Alain had killed Clovis, but kept Judith and used her the same way Clovis had- as a tradable good. When he was captured years later, Alain agreed to turn Judith into a vampire so she could save him. But, when she rose three days later, he was already dust.

She was between thirteen and fifteen when she was turned into a vampire, as Sookie had already guessed.
10. Sookie discovered a secret about herself. What did the queen's guard, Andre, reveal to Sookie about her heritage?

Answer: she was part fairy

Yep, Sookie Stackhouse was part fairy! That sure explained Claudine and the power Sookie had over vampires like Bill and Eric. Eric thought so too, when he found out. He hurt Sookie's feelings when he admitted as much. Andre could smell her fairiness, but he tasted her blood to be certain.

As the book came to a close, Amelia decided to return to Bon Temps and bunk at Sookie's. Sookie and Quinn remained close and planned to see each other again, as soon as he was free. And, Sookie looked toward the future, when she would be attending the vampire summit in the queen's employ.
