"Jitterbug Perfume" was first published in 1984. Tom Robbins' fourth novel, it is about immortality and the importance of smell. Pan is decaying as people lose belief in him after the birth of Christ. He is brought to the New World to live in the untouched wilderness of North America, where Christianity hasn't taken a strong foothold yet.

Answer: Even Cowgirls Get the Blues

This book was made into a movie starring Uma Thurman and Keanu Reeves.
