Galina Casban has been Highest in the Red Ajah for almost 20 years. However, she has been of the Black for over 85. Prior to her capture by the Shaido, only Alviarin stood higher than her on the Black Ajah's Supreme Council. Liandrin swore her oaths as a Darkfriend before she even went to the White Tower. Elaida is not Black Ajah, although under the thumb of it. Tarna's loyalties are unknown.

Toveine was given the task after returning from exile. The expedition ended with the capture of Toveine and all 50 sisters with her.

Perhaps "supporting" is too strong a word. She wanted the Amyrlin Seat for herself but backed Egwene to prevent her arch-nemesis, Lelaine Akashi, being raised but thought, like Lelaine, that she would be able to control Egwene. Like many Yellows, she is quite arrogant. Of course, all Aes Sedai tend to think that sisters from all ajahs other than their own are arrogant.

The Green Ajah considers itself the Battle Ajah, so it is fitting that it should have a military-styled leader. Among those supporting Elaida, the Captain-General is Adelorna; among those supporting Egwene, it is Myrelle.

'Highest' is the title given to the head of the Red Ajah, 'First Weaver' is head of the Yellow, and 'Head Clerk' is head of the Gray.

Bonwhin had been Amyrlin during the reign of the High King, Artur Hawkwing. She was stripped of the stole and staff for almost destroying the White Tower in her attempts to control Hawkwing. Tetsuan was also raised from the Red, but she also was stripped of the stole and staff, for her betrayal of Manetheren during the Trolloc Wars.

Despite being the largest of the Ajahs, the Red has managed only three Amyrlins (including Elaida) in 2000 years. Kirin Melway was raised from the Brown and Sierin Vayu, although "with more than a touch of Red in her", was raised from the Gray.

Alanna later justifies this warning by bonding Rand; she had only been held back from bonding Perrin because Faile had threatened to kill her if she did. Of course, Perrin does not particularly trust any Aes Sedai, including Verin.
