Answer: Strategy and Poison Theory

Mericet is an old Assassin who has broken every record of his time. People say that he even killed one of the Patricians. They say that if you get him as your examiner, you should just cut your own throat before you begin. (Three guesses who Teppic's examiner is!)

2. Who in Teppic's family is an Assassin? (Besides himself, that is.)

Answer: Uncle Vyrt

Teppic's Uncle Vyrt is an Assassin as well. It is him, in fact, who gives the king the idea to send Teppic to the Assassin's Guild for education.

3. In what way is Ptraci connected to Teppic?

Answer: She's his half-sister

Ptraci is a handmaiden who is going to be thrown to the sacred crocodiles for refusing to take poison so she can be buried with Teppic's father. Later on it is revealed that she is Teppic's sister. (Good thing Dios never found out or the choice "She's his wife" would have been applicable...)

4. True or False: Dios claims to interpret Teppic's judgments as the judgments of the king.

Answer: True

Dios twists every decision Teppic makes, claiming that Teppic made the judgments of the man, he made the judgments of the king.

Answer: No killing without payment

Nil mortifi, sine lucre means no killing without payment, and is the motto of the Assassins Guild. Because I knead the dough was from "Feet of Clay" (at least, I think so) and was the motto of a baker. I made up the other two.

6. Who does Dios suggest that Teppic marry?

Answer: His aunt

Dios said that he should marry his aunt, as he has no sisters (Hah!) and the royal blood should not be watered down.

7. Who is referred to as the First by the writing on the wall of Khuft's pyramid?

Answer: Dios

Dios is over 7,000 years old, as we learn at the end of the book when he was sent back to Khuft's time. He was already over 7,000, but then he lived for 7,000 more years, and, of course, the cycle will never end for Dios.

8. True or False: Khuft was a criminal.

Answer: True

Khuft stole camels and sold them with fake teeth in their mouths. He claims that he was being persecuted for his beliefs, which were that nobody would notice that a camel had false teeth until he was well out of there.

9. Where does the camel named Bloody Stupid live?

Answer: Tsort

Here's the relevant passage from "Pyramids":

"Bloody stupid animal," muttered Ptraci, as they jolted away from the palace, "but it looks like it finally got the idea."
...Gauge-invariant repetition rate of 3.5/z. What's she talking about, Bloody Stupid lives over in Tsort...

That this passage begins with a mathematical-type equation is not surprising, as camels are the smartest animals on the Disc.

Answer: Scapula

The Scapula of Hygiene is one of the items that the Pharaoh of the Old Kingdom must carry (or have servants carry for them, of course). Teppic is holding all of the items when Dios springs on him the revelation that he should marry his aunt, causing him to drop them.
