Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of Michiru's castle?

Answer: Triton Castle

Triton is the largest of Neptune's moons. Nereid is another moon of Neptune, and Marina Castle is Mercury's.
2. What is the name of Rei's castle?

Answer: Phobos Deimos Castle

Rei's castle is named after both of Mars's two moons.
3. Hotaru's castle is named after the planet's largest moon. What is the name of this moon?

Answer: Titan

Titan is, fittingly, the largest moon of Saturn. The other three moons listed are also moons of Saturn. In Greek mythology, they were three titan brothers. Prometheus is well known as the creator of mankind and the one who gave them the gift of fire. Epimetheus was the creator of animals, and Atlas, who had fought against the Greek Gods in the war between titans and Gods, was given the task of carrying the sky on his shoulders (in some versions of the myth, Atlas is said to carry the world).
4. Which moon of Jupiter shares the name of Jupiter's castle as well as the name of a lover of Zeus in Greek mythology?

Answer: Io

All of these are moons of Jupiter, and all are also women the Greek God Zeus fell in love with. Io was a girl who Zeus turned into a white cow to hide her from Hera, his queen. Hera, however, knew it was really one of Zeus's mortal wives. The legend is a bit lengthy, but it results in Hera sending a gadfly to sting Io (still a cow), chasing her out of Greece and all the way to Egypt.

In Egypt, Io was worshipped and made into a Goddess. Hera allowed Zeus to turn Io back into a human as long as he promised never to look at her again. Metis was Zeus's first wife, a titaness who was also the Goddess of prudence.

She was the mother of Athena. Leda is perhaps the most famous of the four; Zeus came to her as a swan and seduced her, and she laid two blue eggs. From one egg hatched Zeus's children, Helen (the future Helen of Troy) and her brother Pollux. From the other hatched the children of Leda's mortal husband, Clytemnestra and Castor. Europa was a descendant of Io, and she was the first Queen of Crete.
5. Mariner Castle is the castle of which senshi?

Answer: Mercury

Like Venus, Mercury has no moons, but "marine" means pertaining to the sea, so it has to do with Mercury's element of water. A spacecraft called Mariner 10 took pictures of the planet Mercury in the 1970s.
6. Unlike the moons of most planets, which are named after mythological beings, Uranus's moons are mainly named after Shakespearean characters. Which moon shares the name of Uranus's castle, and in what play did the character it was named after appear?

Answer: Miranda in "The Tempest"

Miranda is actually not the largest, nor even the second largest of Uranus's moons.
7. Setsuna's castle is named after her planet's one and only moon. What is the name of this moon?

Answer: Charon

Charon is almost the same size as Pluto, and there is still some debate as to whether it is really a moon at all.
8. Minako's planet has no moons; her castle was named after which NASA spacecraft?

Answer: Magellan

NASA sent the Magellan spacecraft on a mission to Venus in 1990. It spent four years orbiting the planet. Vega, Galileo, and Mariner were other NASA missions that involved Venus.
9. If you know the senshi's castles, then you should know when they were first revealed in the Manga. Which occasion was it?

Answer: The final battle with Nephrenia

When the senshi called upon the powers of their home castles to help Sailor Moon defeat Nephrenia, they collected enough power for Sailor Moon to become Eternal Sailor Moon, the second strongest form, next to Neo Queen Serenity, that was known of at that time (there was no knowledge of Sailor Cosmos until the end of the "StarS" arc).
10. Which senshi has guardians that are named after her planet's moons?

Answer: Mars

Phobos and Deimos come from the planet Coronis, as revealed in the "StarS" arc.
