After Katniss finds Peeta in the stream, she tries her best to get him clean and healthy. It's not until she realizes how the medicine is having no effect on him that she's scared he's going to die. Peeta starts talking about how he might die, and Katniss says, "No, Peeta. I don't even want to discuss it," and interrupts him with a kiss.

When Gale met Katniss in the woods, he asked her what her name was. She whispered back, "Katniss". Unable to hear her real answer clearly, Gale responded by calling her Catnip, and that's been her nickname ever since.

Haymitch initially says, "I'm trying to figure out what to do with you. How we're going to present you. Are you going to be charming?" Much unlike his session with Peeta, Haymitch had a very difficult time figuring out how to present Katniss. They tried many different angles, all without success.

After much discussion and arguing, Haymitch concluded that there was nothing he could do, and that she should just try to answer the questions.

The contents of the orange pack are "One thin black sleeping bag that reflects body heat. A pack of crackers. A pack of dried beef strips. A bottle of iodine. A box of wooden matches. A small coil of wire. A pair of sunglasses. And a two-litre plastic bottle with a cap for carrying water that's bone dry."
Although the contents of the pack are limited, Katniss is very grateful that she grabbed the pack during the bloodbath.

Katniss and the boy from District 9 reach the orange backpack at the same time. They struggle for a minute until he coughs blood on her face because the girl from District 2 threw a knife in his back.

Answer: Rooba

The butcher is introduced when Katniss is remembering the story of how she got Prim's goat, Lady. Gale and Katniss had shot down their first buck, and took the meat to Rooba to get a fair price.

Katniss first recognizes the Avox while she's serving them dinner, and tries to figure out where she knows her from. Peeta pretends she looks like one of their friends from school because knowing an Avox can mean trouble.
