Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the first book, "Dead Until Dark," someone very close to Sookie is murdered. Who is it?

Answer: her grandmother

Lafayette was killed in the second book, "Living Dead in Dallas." The other two characters are still alive as of "Club Dead."
2. Who is the bartender at Fangtasia?

Answer: Chow

Chow becomes the new bartender and business partner at Fangtasia after the old one is staked for attacking Sookie. The bar that Sookie works at is called Merlotte's.
3. What is the first name of the king of Mississippi?

Answer: Russell

He kidnaps Bill and tortures him in an attempt to steal the vampire directory that has been compiled for the Queen of Louisiana.
4. Who are Bill's descendants that live in Bon Temps and frequent the bar she works at?

Answer: The Bellefleurs

Andy Bellefleur is a detective who often interacts with Sookie and actively believes in her powers. His sister Portia is a lawyer and is very uncomfortable around our heroine. The other families are just last names that I took from various characters in the first book.
5. After many obvious implications, Sookie finally says Bubba's real name in the third book. What is it?

Answer: Elvis

According to the books, there was a vampire on duty in the morgue when he was wheeled in. The vamp was a huge fan and he couldn't resist turning the pop singer. However, because of the circumstances surrounding his hospital visit, he came back wrong. Now he can only follow simple orders and it is not smart to call him by his real name.
6. What kind of animal does Sam Merlotte shapeshift into most of the time?

Answer: a collie

Shapeshifters become the last animal they laid eyes on before their change.
7. Sookie rescinds Bill's invitation to enter her house at the end of "Living Dead in Dallas."

Answer: False

This happens at the end of "Club Dead." Sookie laughs to herself because Bill's vampire directory, which is the central focus of the bad guys in this book, is still in her house which Bill, Eric, and the Queen of Louisiana cannot enter.
8. What is the name of the anti-vampire church Sookie encounters in Dallas - the Fellowship of the ...?

Answer: sun

In "Club Dead", Sookie refers to the church as the Brotherhood of the Sun. I guess this was a continuity error, or perhaps an alternative title.
9. In "Club Dead", Sookie encounters a member of this anti-vamp church and they recognize each other from their encounter in "Living Dead in Dallas." What is this man's name?

Answer: G. Steve Newlin

Steve Newlin is said to be the leader of the Fellowship of the Sun in "Living Dead in Dallas." In "Club Dead", Sookie refers to him as a "former" leader and adds the first initial. Francie Polk is a member of the Fellowship, Tolliver Humphries was a friend of Bill's who was killed in the Civil War, and Preston Child was the co-author of the books "Relic" and "Reliquary."
10. What is the name of the organization Sookie's grandmother was a member of?

Answer: The Descendants of the Glorious Dead

She was most excited when Bill agreed to speak at one of their meetings.
11. While reading "Living Dead in Dallas", you may have noticed something that reminded you of the "Harry Potter" series. Which of these would that be?

Answer: The name Salazar (as in Slytherin)

Sookie notices the nametag of the paramedic pulling her from the car crash. His name is Salazar and she thinks he is the cutest guy she has ever seen. My mind instantly turned to Salazar Slytherin, one of the four founders of Hogwarts. There is a goblin in the series, but he doesn't appear until the third book.
12. What is another way shapeshifters and Weres refer to themselves?

Answer: Two-Natured

This is mentioned by Luna in Dallas and very often by Alcide and others in "Club Dead."
13. What kind of animal does Sookie suspect that Luna Garza, the shifter who helps her escape the church, shifts into?

Answer: a bat

The weres refer to her as a "little bat", and Sookie wonders if they mean literally.
14. In a twist that I personally approve of very much, Sookie meets and almost instantly falls for Alcide Herveaux, a werewolf who owes Eric a favor. What does he do for a living?

Answer: he's a surveyor

Alcide and his father run a very successful surveying company. However, the elder Herveaux has problems with drinking and gambling and, to keep their prosperity alive, Alcide must escort Sookie to the club so that she can mentally eavesdrop.
15. What is the real name of 'Club Dead'?

Answer: Josephine's

Mr. Hob (or just Hob) is the goblin bouncer of this club and, Sookie thinks, might be the owner as well.
16. Who turns out to be Jerry Falcon's killer at the end of the third book?

Answer: Bubba

Bubba was still following orders to watch and protect Sookie, even though Eric only meant for the one night in Bon Temps.
17. What is the strange creature who is dwelling in the woods near Bon Temps in "Living Dead in Dallas"?

Answer: a maenad

Her name is Callisto. Sam has a brief fling with her before she leaves and this doesn't sit too well with our brave heroine, Sookie.
18. Finish the phrase: "Kevin and..."

Answer: Kenya

Exact opposites who work incredibly well together.
19. The man who is killing fangbangers in "Dead Until Dark" is close to Sookie. What is his name and what is his relation to Sookie?

Answer: Rene Lenier; dating Sookie's friend Arlene

Arlene's got the worst luck in guys! Of course it wasn't Jason or Bill... shame on you if you picked either of them.
20. Who is Tina?

Answer: Sookie's cat

Tina is killed by Rene Lenier in the first book, which triggers the first big reaction in Sookie since her grandmother's death. Thanks for taking my quiz. Be sure to let me know how you liked it.
