Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Okay, an easy one to begin. Wedge Antilles and Red Flight travel to this planet as diplomats to secure the planet's weapon-making facilities. Their opponents are Turr Phennir and three Imperial pilots, as well as the native population (who, in an extremely twisted plot, both hate and love Red Flight). What is this planet, on the edge of Wild Space?

Answer: Adumar

Adumar produced excellent missiles and decent fighters called Blade-32s. Tycho Celchu, flying as Red Two, commented that the Blades were similar to Y-wings, but with much more defense. Adumar was ruled by the nation of Cartann until a coalition of other Adumari forces, led by Wedge Antilles defeated Cartann in battle.

It then joined the New Republic. These events are documented in "X-wing: Starfighters of Adumar."
2. Perhaps not easy enough, eh? Alright then, even easier. The Death Star I managed to blow up two planets before being destroyed. What were these unfortunate planets?

Answer: Despayre & Alderaan

Okay, everyone knows that Alderaan was blown up by the Death Star in "A New Hope." Despayre was where the Death Star was constructed. The Death Star turned on Despayre to prevent any prisoners from escaping and telling the galaxy about the immensely powerful battlestation. Despayre is a pun on the word "despair." By the way, Shola was invented by "Star Wars: Empire at War" for another planet to battle on. From now on, I give you no mercy.
3. Which of these was the new headquarters for the Galactic Alliance following the end of the Yuuzhan Vong War?

Answer: Denon

Coruscant was so heavily Vongformed after the war that it could not be repopulated for some time. Thus, the Galactic Alliance shifted the capital to Denon, another nearby ecumenopolis (Add that to your vocabulary).
4. One of these planets does not have significant orbital shipyards. Which is it?

Answer: Tatooine

Tatooine is located in the Outer Rim. Shipyards would be closer in to the Galactic Core. The rest have extremely important shipyards. However, each came under attack by the Empire at some point. Sluis Van was attacked by Thrawn in his attempt to gain more ships for the Empire. Kuat is the home of the Kuat Drive Yards, famous for building the Imperial-class Star Destroyer. Mon Calamari's shipyards produced the main Rebel capital ship, the Mon Calamari Cruiser.
5. This planet was the location of Thrawn's last battle. The New Republic was attempting to secure a CGT from the Ubiqtorate base there.

Answer: Bilbringi

Thrawn was betrayed by his Noghri bodyguard Rukh. The Battle of Bilbringi was a success for both the Smuggler's Alliance and New Republic. Gilad Pellaeon led the retreat of the Empire. However, Thrawn would have won had he not been assassinated. He used Interdictor cruisers to hold the Republic fleet far from the base and pounded them from afar using his Star Destroyers.
6. This planet became the stronghold of the Imperial Remnant after Gilad Pellaeon ended the Galactic Civil War with Ponc Gavrisom and the final death of Palpatine.

Answer: Bastion

Bastion was attacked by the Yuuzhan Vong, after which it was nearly destroyed completely. However, Pellaeon managed to fight back and drive the Yuuzhan Vong out of Imperial Space. The attack on the Imperials convinced them to join the fight against the Vong.
7. This planet was the center of the Empire of the Hand faction of the Imperial Remnant. It was also the site of the fortress known as the Hand of Thrawn under General Voss Parck.

Answer: Nirauan

The Empire of the Hand faction was based around a massive fortress called The Hand of Thrawn. It contained the final clone of Mitth'raw'nuruodo, which was destroyed by Mara Jade and Luke Skywalker. It was called the Hand of Thrawn because of its similarity to an opened hand reaching toward the sky.
8. Anakin Skywalker mentions this planet as the home of angels in "Episode I". Which of these is the home of these sweet and beautiful beings?

Answer: Iego

Humorously enough, these angels are so beautiful that they act as the Sirens of Greek mythology. They convince pilots to fly closer to the planet and eventually crash. The pilots live on the surface of Iego, where they do not age or starve, but are eaten by the native Demons that live underground.
9. I just want to check your spelling abilities. What is the name of the planet Chewbacca hails from? No, it is not Wookiee, but it is the planet where the Wookiees come from.

Answer: Kashyyyk

Kashyyyk is the home of other oddly spelled organisms: wroshyr trees, Wookiees, terentateks, and the Asyyyriak. It is heavily forested and reminds people of Endor because of the huge trees.
10. The fleet of an empire centered on one planet met the fleet of the Yuuzhan Vong. The Vong were winning until Thrackan Sal-Solo (yes, related to Han Solo) fired the massive Centerpoint Station which destroyed a large portion of the anti-Vong fleet, but annihilated the Vong. First, which planet was the battle fought above? Second, which planet was the capital of the allied fleet? Third, in which system did the Centerpoint Station orbit around? (In that order.)

Answer: Fondor, Hapes, Corellia

Thrackan Sal-Solo fired the Centerpoint though it was improperly aimed. It cut through the Hapan fleet and caused such damage that the Hapans had to pull out of the war for some time.
