This book was originally published under his pseudonym, Richard Bachman. Lawyer and family man Billy Halek runs over an old lady while being pleasured by his wife. When he is let off for his crime, the victim's father, an old gypsy, puts a curse on him.

Of course, the real culprit was William "Billy The Kid" Wharton. Wharton was later killed by prison guard Percy Wetmore. Stephen King wrote this book in serial form, over the course of six months.
