Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What book is about a group of kids (and later adults) that fight an evil being that lives in the sewers?

Answer: It

"It" was released in September of 1986. It was later adapted into a TV miniseries in 1990. It is one of Stephen King's longest books, at 1138 pages.
2. A woman is suspected of killing her wealthy employer. What book am I describing?

Answer: Dolores Claiborne

"Dolores Claiborne" was released in 1992. Unlike most Stephen King books, "Dolores Claiborne" focuses very little on the supernatural. Throughout the book, Dolores is being interrogated by the police.
3. A lonely girl discovers she has supernatural powers and she uses them to get payback for a certain prank that was played on her. What book am I talking about?

Answer: Carrie

"Carrie" was released in 1974 and was released as a movie in 1976. The movie is infamous for the pig blood scene.
4. A criminal kidnaps a millionaire's child after his partner in crime dies. Which Bachman novel am I describing?

Answer: Blaze

"Blaze" was released in 2007 as the last novel by Stephen King to be written under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. "Blaze" was written before King's first book, "Carrie", and was sent to Doubleday Publishers the same time as "'Salem's Lot", but wasn't published for three decades.
5. What book is about four friends that stumble upon supernatural beings in the forest?

Answer: Dreamcatcher

"Dreamcatcher" was released in 2001 and was adapted into a movie in 2003. It was the first book that Stephen King wrote after he was hit by a car in 1999. Because it was so painful to sit at a table, "Dreamcatcher" was entirely handwritten in King's bed.
6. A man loses his arm, moves to Florida, and rediscovers his love for painting. What novel am I talking about?

Answer: Duma Key

"Duma Key" was released in 2008. It was the first novel of Stephen King's to take place in Florida (many of his books take place in his home state, Maine).
7. A possessed car becomes jealous for its owner, and becomes deadly. What book is this?

Answer: Christine

"Christine" was published in 1983 and was adapted into a movie later that year. It isn't the only King book about a possessed car; "From a Buick 8" is also about a possessed car.
8. An innocent man is sent to prison for the rape and murder of two girls. It turns out that he has a healing power. What novel am I talking about?

Answer: The Green Mile

"The Green Mile" was published in six monthly installments in 1996. It was released as one big novel in 2000. It was adapted into a very successful movie in 1999.
9. A dog is bitten by a bat and gets rabies. He attacks and kills multiple people. What book is this?

Answer: Cujo

"Cujo" was released in 1981, and two years later, a movie adaptation was released. It was the second book by Stephen King to take place in the fictional town of Castle Rock.
10. "The Shining" is about a family that takes care of a haunted hotel for the winter.

Answer: True

"The Shining" was published in 1977 as King's third novel. A film based on the book was released in 1980. Later, in 1997, it was adapted again into a TV miniseries.
