Answer: Betty's

We are in Betty's room. She is lying on her bed inert.
2. What did Abigail drink a potion to?

Answer: To killing Elizabeth Proctor.

She does this so that she will have John Proctor to herself. We find out later that she has had an affair with him.
3. How many children does John Proctor have?

Answer: 3

He has three boys. We also find that he has baptised only two of them.
4. What has John done that causes Elizabeth to be wary of his whereabouts?

Answer: He had an affair with Abigail Williams.

It happened about seven months ago. When Elizabeth found out she released Abigail from her service.
5. Who says that he can't say his prayers because his wife is reading strange books?

Answer: Giles Corey

He tells Rev. Hale this when he comes to town to help. We also find that he has just now learned to say his prayers and we know that he is old, so he may not be able to remember them.
6. Where is Tituba from?

Answer: Barbados

She tells us this when she is talking about what the devil said to her. She is longing to go back to her home.
7. Which family has had seven children die?

Answer: The Putnams

Ann Putnam sends her daughter Ruth to Tituba to find out who killed them. She starts to blame her midwives when people start accusing people of witchcraft.
8. What does John Proctor find out about his wife when he goes to the court?

Answer: That she is pregnant.

They tell him that she shows no physical signs of it, but if she does that they will pardon her. He tells them that she would never lie and that if she says it, it must be true.
9. Which commandment does John Proctor forget?

Answer: Adultery

Ironicly this is the one that he forgets, and it is the one that he has broken. He says his commandments to Rev. Hale when he comes to the Proctor's home one night.
10. Does Elizabeth ever lie in the play?

Answer: Yes, she lies to save John's name.

She lies and says that John didn't commit adultery to help save his name, even though he has already told people to discredit Abigail. The judges take her seriously and believe that her word is true because John told them that she would never lie.
