Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who is "The Lark and the Wren" mainly about?

Answer: Rune

We are following the story of Rune, daughter of Stara and nobody. Rune is trying to rise in the world, past all the obstacles in her way (and there are a lot of them).
2. What instrument is most mentioned?

Answer: Fiddle

Rune is an excellent fiddle player. She does learn to play the lute and the harp, though.
3. The minstrels that pass through Rune's town sometimes teach her a few songs. One of the minstrels comes at least twice a year, and Rune thought he was courting her. Who is he?

Answer: Raven

Raven was sent by the Free Bards to be Rune's main teacher until she was ready. The Free Bards watch over all of the potential musicians with the help of the Gypsys.
4. Once Rune got to Nolton, who was her teacher there?

Answer: Tonno

Tonno also brought her to Amber's to live.
5. Who does Rune meet at the Midsummer Faire at Kingsford?

Answer: Talaysen

She meets him in front of a food stand. He startles her, almost making her spill her drink.
6. Who saves Talaysen from the Elves?

Answer: Rune

Rune played her fiddle until the Elves were collapsing, from fatigue and tears.
7. Where do Rune and Talaysen get married?

Answer: In a cabin in the woods

They were going to get married in a church, but the priest said he wouldn't marry them. So, a good priest married them in his house.
8. Who gets turned into a bird?

Answer: Robin

Robin gets turned into a bird after she turned down a priest's offer. The priest turned out to be a dark mage. Talaysen and the Free Bards get Robin back and take her to Ardis (Talaysen's cousin) who turns Robin back into a person. Luckily the spell bounces back to the dark mage and turns him into an ugly bird.
9. When Wren, Lark, and Robin first meet Kestrel, what is he doing?

Answer: Trying to rob them

Talaysen feels ghostly hands trying to take his purse, but Kestrel isn't fast enough. Kestrel turns out to be a prince from another land. He doesn't want to rule, though. He lets his uncle keep the throne.
10. Who gets married at the end of the book?

Answer: Robin and Kestrel

Talaysen and Rune do get married, but that is earlier in the book. Jib is going to marry the horse person's daughter. As far as I know Pearl and Stork never get married. I hope you like this quiz.
